A fortnightly clean and a deep clean are two different jobs, and the most common frustration we hear comes from expecting one to do the work of the other. A maintenance visit keeps a home that's already in good shape that way. It isn't designed to reset a home that's drifted.
What a fortnightly clean covers
Think of it as keeping the baseline. Every visit, the whole home gets the same consistent pass:
- Bathrooms cleaned — sinks, showers, toilets, mirrors
- Kitchen surfaces, stovetop and sink
- All floors vacuumed and mopped
- Dusting of reachable surfaces
- Bins emptied and beds made if requested
What it doesn't cover
These are the jobs that take time and usually aren't needed every fortnight. They belong to a deep clean, and trying to squeeze them into a maintenance visit is what makes a home feel rushed.
- Inside the oven and rangehood filters
- Inside the fridge and cupboards
- Walls, skirting boards and detailed grout work
- Windows beyond a quick interior wipe
“A regular clean keeps a tidy home tidy. A deep clean is how you get there in the first place.”
When to book a deep clean instead
If it's been a while, if you've just moved in, or if there's built-up grime in the oven or bathrooms, start with a deep clean. From there a fortnightly visit is enough to hold the line.
